About this Project
Play Higher’s Social Work Simulator is a virtual reality educational experience designed to introduce middle school through college-aged students to the growing field of behavioral health social work. The Player takes on the role of a newly hired social worker meeting a client for the first time, making choices that build rapport, assess client needs through Maslow’s Hierarchy, and applies foundational social work principles, and earns prizes they progress. Developed by West Virginia University’s School of Social Work in collaboration with Roundtable Learning and MonRiverGames, the simulation was created by professionals to ensure realism, accuracy, and meaningful educational impact.

My Work
In this project I had various positions. I created the interactive prizes that the player receives throughout the game, which range from Newton's Cradles to Fidget Spinners, utilizes Unity's built in Physics, and well as creating custom C# code. I also assisted in playtesting the game throughout production. Once the project reached its final stages I assisted in setting up and loading the content onto eighteen Meta Quest VR Headsets, which were then distributed to various school in the state of West Virginia. I also assisted in running public playtests for the game.
